Flying with Allergies

Severe Allergies

If you suffer from a severe allergy, it is very important that you let the airline know. Please contact the airline(s) at least 48 hours before your scheduled departure so that they can make the necessary accommodations on the aircraft.

As always, please consult your medical professional in advance and take all medical precautions to prepare for the possibility of exposure. Many airlines will remove products that contain nuts from the in-flight service menu and seat you in a buffer zone if necessary. For more information regarding your specific flight, please call the airline directly.

Animal Allergies

A limited number of animals such as a service dog or a cat travelling in a carrier may be present on board. Please contact the airline in advance of your flight to request that they seat you in a buffer zone to minimize the effects of any pet dander.
